Happy New Year

 


Happy New Year everyone!

As it turned out, I had a lovely ending to 2021.  I did end up getting home to see all of my family for Christmas and it was just what I needed.  

At the last minute, the SA government changed the rules so that I only had to get a test and negative result in VIC, and I didn't have to worry about getting another one once I reached SA.

I have a frame that used to be my Nanna's that holds specific calendars, and my sister now buys me the calendar every year.  She picks the best ones.  The pic above is the January picture.  It's a self care calendar by Lily & Val.  I'm sure I'll share a few more of the months as the year goes on, but let's not wish it away.

For New Year's Eve, I went out with 2 friends for tea and then headed over to one of my best friend's to see the new year in with her and her partner.  It was really lovely.

2022 has started with a lot of potential.  I will talk about this more in future blogs.  

I have started yet another facebook page because I wanted to keep up my walking without asking people for donations all the time for different charities.  So, I hope to walk 1000km this year and the page is called "LiMo's Mission 1000".  I've even made a Koala that has been named by my cousin as Bond.... Blinky Bond.  He will come with me on some of the nicer walks.  He didn't come with me on the 1st one because that was around the lake here that I do all the time and can get him there later.

Yesterday we visited Devil's Kitchen and Nimon's Bridge near Smythesdale, so he came with me for those along with another new friend.

Which brings us to today.  My last day of holidays.  I cleaned up the house a bit this morning, and then I have a friend coming for coffee soon, then it will be nap time and then decide where to go for a walk later on tonight.  I do enjoy daylight savings and being able to walk later in the evening, I really don't do heat well at all.

I hope 2022 brings us all some lovely new experiences and, as always, to anyone that needs them....

Judging is Human Nature

Today I would like to talk about being judgy.   Before we go any further, I would like to say that this is probably not going to go how you think it will.  (See, already I am judging other people's reactions).    It is human nature to judge others, to judge what things (houses, roads etc) look like, what things you haven't tried will taste like .... So in my opinion (and it is only my opinion, my judgement, it doesn't meant I am right), telling people not to judge others is like telling a fish not to swim.  Saying that you never judge anyone is like saying you never breathe. Anyone who says they have not judged someone or something in their life is either the Dalai Lama or their pants are on fire. And you know what, that's OK! Perfunctory

I've had a pretty shit weekend emotionally. I was able to be distracted during the week with work (thank goodness I was still able to work despite yet another COVID lockdown).  BUT..... The weekend is normally the time I would be spending with my (ex)man but of course this is the first full weekend since we broke up and it just hurts so much. I truly love this man. Despite the short falls in our relationship, I could truly see us having a future together, unfortunately, emotionally we were just polar opposites and I couldn't do it anymore. Knowing that and accepting that in my mind and knowing and accepting it in my broken heart are 2 totally different things. I get that while my tiny world has stopped, everyone else's keeps going. I understand that people have their own problems to deal with and I'm not front of mind.  There are just a couple of people in my life that I would have thought would be more - not understanding - but just show that they care about ME a littl...

Closing Doors

 I've closed 3 doors in the last 2 weeks.  1. My most recent "romantic" (for lack of a better word because there was no romance) relationship - I finally closed his actual front door for the last time yesterday after going and getting all of my stuff...... and howled like a banshee all the way home. Check out my previous 2 blogs to get updated on this. 2. The friendship I have mentioned that was just harder than it should be.  I couldn't do it anymore and finally told her that I think our friendship has run it's course. 3. Is not so much closing a door on a person, but rather a marriage.   I am lucky enough to still get along very well with the father of my son and my (still at this point in time) husband.  We have been separated for 7 years and I have just signed the divorce paper work and sent it to him today. Decluttering to calm my cluttered mind

 It's been a minute! Nearly 2 years since my last post. It's very strange, I just had a quick read of the last post and I am in the process of doing exactly the same thing that I was in that one - sorting out the craft room.  Only this time, it is in OUR house that we bought together.  A bit of updating first.  I have been with my partner (or should I say fiance) now for 3 years. For the most part, life is good and I love doing life with him. We laugh a lot and just "get" each other. The house we bought needed a lot of work and we have been slowly renovating it after replacing carpet with vinyl floating floorboards before moving in. We have been here nearly 18 months now.  It has 3 bedrooms and the third bedroom will eventually be my craft room. We had to fix the ceiling, which had sagged, and paint the room before anything else, which was done after moving in.  We then had to turn it into a spare room at Christmas time in 2023 for my Mum to come and stay, ...
